Review of Photography Changes Everything by Marvin Heiferman

Photography is often looked at as art, but it is that and many other things, and all of these things inhabit many parts of our everyday lives that often go overlooked. Like the reading mentioned, the accessibility of photography has skyrocketed, so more people than ever have been able to record images. Photography is being used for many different industries, from art to science to forensics. I agree with the idea presented in the reading. Photography may technically refer to the process of light in a given moment/time being recorded through different procedures, but the meaning behind a photograph and photography is completely dependent upon the person viewing the image and the circumstances in which the photograph was taken. "What made for an effective, good, or even beautiful picture depended entirely on who was doing the looking and talking."

I do think the stark difference in how important and almost sacred getting an image of you recreated was. You would have to pay a lot of money to have a skilled artist reinvent you in some other fashion other than capturing the actual light from that moment.. This could have been a painting or making a statue. Now it is so easy and almost expected to take pictures and capture moments and people in a very accurate way. This allows us to slow down time in a way. While I of course love to take photos, whether that's to simply capture a moment I don't want to forget or try and share the way I see the world with others, I do feel like there may be an over dependence on taking photos to enjoy and sit with a moment.

I am inspired by many different people and events. I find it hard to show my appreciation and love for the world with words, is I am thankful that I am able to share the way I see the world and the things that stand out to me enough to take the time to take a photo. It connects me with other people in a way I think only photography/art can do. To be more specific, I find inspiration in other photographers like you (Andreas) and other people I have come across either online or through my Photography courses. I also find a lot of inspiration in nature and the patterns that can be noticed.
